Common questions about converting image formats online
Upload your JPG file, select PNG as the output format, then click Download. The conversion happens instantly in your browser using the Canvas API — no server upload needed.
No. Converting a JPG to PNG will not recover quality that was lost during the original JPG compression. The resulting PNG file will be lossless going forward, but the original compression artifacts remain. Convert to PNG when you need transparency support or plan to edit the image further.
WEBP is a modern image format developed by Google. It produces files 25–35% smaller than equivalent JPG or PNG while maintaining the same visual quality. It also supports transparency (like PNG) and animation (like GIF). All major browsers support WEBP, making it the recommended format for web images.
JPG does not support transparency. Any transparent area in your PNG (shown as checkered in image editors) must be filled with a solid color before saving as JPG. This tool fills transparent areas with white, which is the standard behavior. If you need to keep transparency, convert to WEBP or PNG instead.
Your files are completely safe. All conversion happens locally in your browser — no files are uploaded to any server, stored in the cloud, or accessible to anyone else. Closing the tab immediately removes all traces of your images from memory.
